The new Vampire Diaries promo for next week’s episode, Stand By Me (4×15) is out, and things look very bleak for Jeremy fans…

At the end of last night’s episode (Down the Rabbit Hole) it looked like Jeremy was dead after Silas snapped his neck. But, things did not look too good for Bonnie either, who was barely alive as she looked on worriedly over at Jeremy’s still body.

In the promo, Elena is desperately looking for Bonnie, so she can presumably perform some kind of spell to bring Jeremy back. But, where is Bonnie?? Is she alright, did she survive?

Also in the promo, Stefan and Damon are seen talking about Jeremy in the past tense, so it is safe to say that he does die. However, we are not sure if he is going to be brought back this time, or if he’s the character that’s been rumored to die in the next episode…

Meanwhile, photos for Stand By Me, show Bonnie, very much alive and well, so it doesn’t seem as if it’s her who is going to die….

Below you can read the official synopsis for Stand By Me, which is kind of cryptic since it talks about Jeremy going back to Mystic Falls with Elena and Stefan. Is he still alive when he gets back home? What’s going on???

THE TERRIBLE TRUTH — When Stefan (Paul Wesley) arrives back in Mystic Falls with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Caroline (Candice Accola) is immediately worried about Elena’s state of mind. Stefan reaches out to Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey DeVitto) and Matt (Zach Roerig) for help. Still on the island, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) relays somber news to Rebekah (Claire Holt), and is surprised at her reaction. Together, Damon and Rebekah learn an unexpected bit of recent history from Vaughn (guest star Charlie Bewley). Everyone is horrified when Bonnie (Kat Graham) reveals the rest of Shane’s (guest star David Alpay) plan. Finally, after Damon does his best to help her, Elena comes up with a plan of her own.
