It’s such a common occurrence when after spending money on the best toys, kids will have the most fun with some mundane item that’s not even a toy.

Today, for instance, my husband showed up with a huge piece of giant bubble wrap he got from somewhere. He thought our daughter may like it because she’s always popping the bubbles from the bubble wrap that comes in packaged mail.

The minute Emma saw the big bubble wrap she put a huge smile on her face and giddily grabbed it. We laid it on the floor for her and she began running back and forth on top of it to pop the bubbles, hysterically laughing.

She began to roll in it, lay in it and then got under it, as if it was her “bed,” and she played with that wrap thing for over an hour! It’s the most fun she’s had all day. Plus she did the sweetest thing once she was done playing; she looked over at her dad and said, “Thank you papa!”

I think I’ll start including more of this type of “toys” under the tree for Christmas and for birthdays, we’ll save a ton of money! Just like the always popular big empty box, these things surely become the best toys ever.
