While the best way to lose weight and get in shape is to eat well and exercise, there are many, many books on how to do it best. In “6 Weeks to OMG,” Venice A. Fulton, a British nutrition and fitness expert, brings a completely different approach to weight loss, using some odd, and surprising techniques on a successful journey to getting skinny.
In his book, Fulton talks about many different reasons why people get fat and reveals some surprising and even controversial methods on how to lose weight safely and effectively. His main fat-busting claims include that skipping breakfast can be healthy, cold baths help you lose weight, small frequent meals are bad for you and broccoli carbs can be worse than soda carbs.
Many of these claims flat out go against the advice we’ve been hearing for years from nutrition experts, but the science behind what Fulton explains seems to support him. People who have followed his revolutionary plan have had lots of success.
The plan itself can be somewhat complicated, but Fulton insists that once you get started it becomes very easy to follow. The changes he imposes become a lifestyle and when dieters see the results they tend to stick with it.
I, myself, have tried the more simpler tactics, like choosing better foods and even trying the skipping breakfast bit. However, I do not plan on getting into a tub of cold water for 10 minutes! I understand how that could help in losing fat, but I just do not like to treat myself to such unpleasantness on a a daily basis…
But, for many people looking to lose weight, this will come easy, and some may even enjoy the cold baths.
The book itself is fun to read, as Fulton writes in a humorous, easy to follow manner that’s full of snarky comments. There are many tips and tricks along the book that you can try, if you don’t want to go through the whole plan.
Overall, “Six Weeks to OMG” is an interesting weight loss approach that uses lots of science backed facts to make its point. If you are tired of following boring conventional plans that yield no results, “Six Weeks to OMG” is a good book to get you started on a new plan of action.
