When I was offered the chance to review the weight loss book “S.A.S.S. Yourself Slim“, I was very excited and looked forward to learning some new tips on how to lose weight and still eat well.
By reading the book, not only did I learn great ways to shed pounds, but also I became aware of some awesome foods that can really kick-start your metabolism and help in the journey to permanent weight loss.
The author, Cynthia Sass, who also co-wrote “Flat Belly Diet,” does a wonderful job at describing why and how her method works.
In the book, Cynthia explains why almonds are an integral part of the weight loss process, and that eating dark chocolate every day is a must. How can you go wrong with that?
“S.A.S.S. Yourself Slim” outlines a 30-day program that promises to help you shed pounds fast. You can begin with the 5-day, 5-food fast forward that will jump start your weight loss with up to 8 pounds in five days. Or, if you prefer, you can skip this strict 5-day regiment and go straight into the 30-day plan.
Cynthia’s plan consists of what she calls “puzzle” meals, which are all made up of five “pieces”: whole grains, produce, lean protein, plant-based fat and specific seasonings. She has you eating 4 meals at specific times of the day, according to your schedule, making sure that you don’t go without a meal for more than five hours.
This ensures that your blood and insulin levels remain regulated, allowing for your metabolism to reset and rev up. The book also shows you how to put together these meals and offers tons of recipes that are very easy to make.
To give you an idea of how well you will be eating on this plan, here are a couple of recipes from the book: Citrus Zest Chocolate Truffles, Tuna Pecan Pasta, Mediterranean Shrimp Pizza and there are plenty more where those came from!
In the book, Cynthia also explains how eating almonds, dark chocolate, certain spices, yogurt, eggs, berries and spinach will help you shed pounds for good and keep you healthy. She also offers alternatives for those who follow a vegan or gluten-free diet.
Cynthia’s weigh loss method in “S.A.S.S. Yourself Slim” is easy to follow and very doable. Her tips on what foods work best to boost your weight loss can even be an awesome help on their own. But, this program is definitely worth trying and I freely recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight and stay healthy for life.
