When I was asked by Deborah Carroll to review her new book, Raising Amazing Children (…While Having a Life of Your Own) (Volume 1) Raising Amazing Children (...While Having a Life of Your Own) Review and Book Giveaway, the title alone was enough to get me interested.

Then, upon reading it, I felt her tips and suggestions for raising kids while maintaining a life of your own were right on target. The book explains, just as the title says, how to raise great kids and still live your life without losing site of yourself or what you like to do.

Deborah goes into detail about simple things parents can do to get their kids involved in their daily life activities so that they learn to adapt to them. She instills the importance of how to avoid becoming totally dependent on your children by integrating the kids into your daily life activities.

It’s so easy to stop doing the things you love because you believe that it’s the way it should be once you have kids. Many parents think that to be good parents they have to put their lives on hold and solely cater to their children’s needs.

While parenting is a big job and things certainly change once we become parents, there is no reason to stop doing things you love. The key is to do these things with the kids from day one. Deborah reveals how to make them adapt to you and your way of living, while still teaching them and raising them right.

Additionally, when you get your children involved in your activities and daily lives, they will grow closer to the family and be more self-assured. Children can learn a lot by watching their parents and by being involved in all aspects of their lives, such as house cleaning, laundry, shopping and even bill paying, they learn how to take care of themselves too.

Deborah writes that by getting the kids involved in your lives and giving them a hands-on approach to all aspects of everyday living, will give them assurance and a sense of self-worth. They will grow up to be confident and self-sufficient once it is time for them to leave home.

By following Deborah’s suggestions, not only will you get to live and enjoy your life as parents, but you will have a closer relationship with your children. Additionally, as a result, your kids will be fully capable of taking care of themselves when they are old enough to be on their own.

This book is definitely a must for any parent, it is easy to read and full of common sense ways to raise great kids while still retaining your life.
