Oscars 2013: Awards go to Many Lesser Known Films and Adele wins big -
So, did you watch the longest show in history last night? Yes, I am talking about the Oscars 2013… I think the whole thing came in at over 4 hours, didn’t it?
Anyway, what did you think about so many lesser known films taking home the statues?
I actually loved that Adele got Best Song for Skyfall, I really love that tune and thought she was deserving of the Oscar for it. I actually did not start watching the show until about more than half-way through, however. I mean, seriously, the thing was super-long and we had dinner to go to.
Anyhow, it’s always fun to watch a bit of the Oscars and see all the glitzy dresses, stars and winners…
As far as the other big winners, I am glad that Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress for Silver Lining Playbook, as I think she’s a great actress. Although, I felt horrible that the poor kid fell on the stairs as she went up to the stage to get her Oscar… It was already bad enough her dress almost fell off at the SAGs last month. But, she took it pretty well and was able to laugh about her unfortunate miss-hap once on stage.
Jennifer Lawrence falls on way to stage to get Oscar:
I haven’t seen Lincoln, but Daniel Day-Lewis is a pretty good actor and probably deserved the honors. Haven’t seen Argo either, but I tend not to like Hollywood political movies as they always seem slanted in some way. Still, everyone was rooting for it to win, so whatever, good for Ben Affleck!
Haven’t seen Life of Pi either, but like I said, it’s good to see some of the lesser known movies, producers, directors, etc, get some recognition.
Lastly, I honestly did not find it appropriate for the First Lady to present at the Oscars, even via satellite. I mean, really, Hollywood is not Washington DC — or is it? I think Mrs. Obama and the President should focus on bringing this country back into a more acceptable economic situation, and stop making TV appearances along actors and on Hollywood shows like the Oscars. It’s just not politically responsible in my opinion.
But , whatever, that’s just what I think…

I’m so behind! I didn’t watch the Oscars at all, and I’m not familiar with many of the movies that won. However, I have seen the pics of Jennifer Lawrence. I love her dress, and I think she’s a great actress!
