My sister in law is planning on running a marathon in Vail, Colorado this Christmas. Well since we all live in Florida we decided that the whole family would go over there to support her. We also know it’s going to be a lot of fun actually having a white Christmas. So I was tasked to find a hotel that could accommodate us. I needed to find a place that had two rooms next door to each other or simply one huge suite type room. Now I don’t know how many of you have traveled a lot during the holidays but everything seems to be double the price and Vail, Colorado is already a pretty pricey town.
Well I was at Starbucks getting my daily dose with a girlfriend of mine. And as I was griping about the expense of hotel rooms she mentioned a home exchange. Now I had never heard of anything like this but I was definitely intrigued. She said that usually it’s an even swap with another family at no cost! Basically they stay in your home while you stay in theirs. Everybody wins.
The only thing I was nervous about was having a family that I didn’t know stay in my home. She said she knew of an amazing company and had actually done a home exchange with a family. I asked her for the name of the company and would you believe it, she couldn’t remember the name? All she remembered was that it was a “Christian” service. I was determined to find it, so I whipped out my trusty iPhone and searched “Home exchange with Christians”. And boom there was the company she used, it’s called Christian Home Exchange. I can’t wait to give them a try. What a great idea!Pin It
