Gevalia Kaffe Coffee Review
As you may have already guessed by my heading, I love coffee, so when Gevalia offered to send me a sample of their coffee to review for you, I was more than happy to say yes!
And I am so glad I did, because this coffee is definitely a good pick for all you coffee freaks like me. I tried out the Gevalia French Roast variety in whole bean and it makes for one nice smooth cup of coffee! Not only that, but it smells divine!
It has a nice flavor that is not too strong, although it is a dark roast flavor. It is still well bodied, and not weak at all. The taste is actually very different than other coffees I have tried, with an original flavorful character that is reminiscent of European coffees.
You can easily control the strength of the flavor by using less or more coffee when making it. However, I used the measurements on the packaging, which say one tablespoon for 6 fl. oz., and it came out perfect.
While the French Roast flavor is certainly delicious, now that I have gotten a taste of the Gevalia brand for the first time, I want to also try their other varieties. I especially look forward to tasting their Vanilla and Chocolate Mocha, as flavored coffee is my favorite!
Also, these coffees make delicious iced coffee for those hot summer days, especially the House Blend, French Roast and Expresso Roast varieties. Just use 12 rounded Tbsp. of coffee and fill coffee maker to 8 cup level. Brew and refrigerate, then serve over ice. You can also sweeten the coffee with simple syrup made of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water warmed over medium heat until dissolved. You can then refrigerate it in covered container for up to one week.
To flavor your iced coffee, simply add your favorite extract to coffee when it is still hot. About 1/4 tsp per serving works best. Use flavors such as vanilla, orange, almond, or even coconut! Yummy! For more delicious recipes and coffee tips you can click here.
Up until recently, Gevalia was only available in the U.S. by ordering online. However, now you can find this wonderful coffee in the isles of your fave supermarket. Of course, all flavors are also available online at www.gevalia.com, as well as some additional ones – think Chocolate Raspberry and Hazlenut!! Double-Yumm!)
The in-store packages come in 12 oz. ground, with two of the flavors, Traditional and French Roast, coming in whole bean as well. Meanwhile, the online varieties come in 8 oz. packages. Check the Gevalia website for all available products.
Disclosure: I received a free sample of Gevalia French Roast from Kraft Foods to facilitate my Gevalia Kaffe coffee review. However, all opinions and experiences on the review are 100% my own.
