‘Adventures in Clean’ From Frigidaire

We all like clean clothes, but sometimes there are those stubborn stains, especially for those of us with kids…, that just won’t come off. But, with these tips from Tara Aronson for Frigidaire your stains don’t stand a chance!

First of all, whenever you get a spill on your clothes, be sure to rinse it with cool water right away, so that it doesn’t set into the fabric. Also, don’t rub to get the stain out, as this only gets the stain to go deeper into the fibers of the fabric. Then, before washing the garment, be sure to pre-wash the area of the spot by using the washer’s rinse and spin cycle. If you have a Frigidaire Affinity washer, it’s Rinse & Spin cycle works best at removing stains.

Be sure all stains are removed before putting garments in the dryer, as the heat will set the stain deeper. So, you may need to wash the stained garment in the rinse cycle a couple of times with cool water, but eventually the stain should lift off. Spot stain-removing spray also helps to get stains out quicker.

For tough stains, Tara has some awesome tips too:

Spills and stains made by crayons should be scraped off using a plastic picnic knife, or something similar. Then, apply laundry detergent right on the spot and let it sit a few minutes. Lastly, wash it using the hottest water temperature that’s safe for the garment and dry as usual.

For grass and chocolate you can prewash the garment in warm water and use a detergent that contains enzymes. For whites you can add bleach, or use color safe bleach for colored clothing. Wash and dry as usual.

Juice stains can be removed by soaking in cold water for a minute and applying a spot stain-remover after removing excess water. Wash with detergent as usual and air dry. But, don’t place in dryer unless stain is completely gone, or the heat will set it in permanently.

I hope these tips come in handy should you ever have the need to remove any stains from your clothes. I know I’ve learned a few ways on how to take those spills out of clothes that I didn’t know before!
