A Great Way to Have a Fun and Free Afternoon with the Kids

These days, an afternoon out with the kids can often come in quite costly, especially if you go to the movies or out to eat somewhere.

But, we’ve discovered a really great way to have a fun and free afternoon that most kids will love. Just take the children to the observation area of your local airport to watch the planes land and take off!

Most airports have an area where you can park your car and watch the airplanes from a close distance as they taxi around the runways and fly off. You can take a couple of chairs and a cooler and make an afternoon out of it. It is guaranteed fun for the kids, and for us adults too.

You get the excitement of the planes being really close to you as you hear the engines roar. It’s super fun! It’s totally free entertainment and you can just bring drinks and sandwiches from home and make it like a day at the beach, except instead of watching waves you are watching airplanes.

Anyway, we do this quite often, and our daughter, Emma, absolutely loves it. She is a plane fanatic so this outing has become one of her most favorite things to do.
